(1 Corinthians 6:19)

Your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you.

This biblical truth is absolutely amazing! 

Throughout the Old Testament, the glorious and dynamic presence of God (the Spirit of God) dwelled in the tabernacle and the temple in Jerusalem. 

However, in the New Testament following the coming of Jesus Christ, the Spirit of God now dwells in our physical bodies.

We should all deeply think and reflect about this biblical truth.

Jesus tells us in John 14:16-17, ”I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever—the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.”

1 Corinthians 3:16 says, "Don’t you know that you are God’s temple?

Paul wrote in Romans 8:9-11, - “You are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you.”

The dynamic presence of God now lives in us, in our physical bodies. God created our bodies with the purpose of dwelling in our inner lives. In Genesis 2:7, he formed our bodies, and then breathed the Holy Spirit with us.

Genesis 2:7 tells us that the Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life (the Spirit of God), and the man became a living being.

Our body is not like a hard cup, but our bodies are created organic by God so the Holy Spirit could live within us, upon us, and flow through out bodies. This is the primary reason that God created our physical bodies.

With this understanding, we must open our hearts and allow the Holy Spirit to dynamically and fully live within us and flow through us. 

Let all us fully grasp this truth. From now on, although our bodies are getting older, the Holy Spirit is renewing our inner lives. As 2 Corinthians 4:16 tells us, Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.”

From now on, let’s view our physical bodies as the new temple in which God lives.
