(1 Peter 4:8) Love each other deeply because love covers over over a multitude of sins.

This verse emphasizes the power of love in healing and reconciling relationships in our lives.

When we respond to conflict and wrongdoings (sins) of others with biblical love and forgiveness, it can lead to resolution and peace. And then, we are to leave the rest up to God.

We can’t change others, but God can.

When we bless others, we give God space to release his healing presence in our relationships and homes. We overcome the sin of others through overcoming love.

When we show grace, God’s power is released.

What is biblical (agape) love?

Biblical love is not simply an emotional feeling, it is a sacrificial love that is focused on the well-being and healing of others. True biblical love covers over and protects those who are struggling, falling into sin, even those who even sin against us.

We must not expose others or shame them, although that is what we often feel like doing. But always remember that confrontation only leads to more spiritual conflict and heaviness.

Verbal conflict only brings spiritual death.

We are called to breath God’s life into others. As Christians, we are to show compassion and forgiveness toward those who fall-short into sin and wrong choices, and spiritually cover them and protect them.

We are called to bless them, not curse them. We are called to try to bring healing to them, and not tear them down.

How do you approach those who are falling short in their lives?

Do you shun them?

Do you condemn them?

Do you look down on them?

As Christians, we must do everything possible to maintain healthy relationships in our marriages, family, and among others.

We do not need to accept their sin or lifestyle, but we are to bring healing to others through protective love. We are to affirm them, and protect them from destructive spiritual darkness. We are to build them up, and not push them down. We are to rescue them from themselves.

When we love others, it draws them to ourselves, otherwise, we push them away.We are to show others the grace God shows towards us. It is definitely not easy, but God will give us the inner power we need to be a blessing.

When we bless others, we are blessed by God.

This is how the kingdom of God works in our daily lives.
