(1 Timothy 1:18) Fight the battle well.
Every day is a spiritual battle for Christians.
A daily spiritual battle is not some obscure or strange teaching.
We also experience seasons of more intense spiritual warfare than at other times. Our spiritual battle is not the same every day.
Some days we feel as though we are walking through a cloud of spiritual confusion, while on other days we feel spiritually empowered and clear-minded.
When we were born again by the Holy Spirit, we enter into the spiritual conflict between the kingdom of God and the kingdom of Satan.
Many Christians have not been discipled and prepared to engage in this spiritual battle between light and darkness.
Christians have no days off in this spiritual battle.
We might go on vacation, but Satan does not.
He is constantly scheming, looking for a weakness in our lives that he can exploit to bring us down.
He wants to wear us down and tire us out.
He wants us to give up.
He wants us to become Christians in name only—passive, nominal believers.
This is why it is so important that we fight this daily spiritual battle through the grace and power provided by the Holy Spirit.
We cannot overcome our daily struggles through worry or by relying on our own efforts and striving.
We are more than conquerors only as we live for God in spirit and truth; there is no other way.
We are victorious in our spiritual battles when we are deeply rooted each day in biblical truth and in the presence of the Holy Spirit.
We cannot expect to overcome spiritually simply by going to church, listening to sermons, and trying to be religious.
Finally, it is important to understand that the spiritual battle between God and Satan is not an equal contest.
God has already defeated the Devil through the cross of Jesus Christ!
Satan wants us to believe that he is independent of God's authority, but he is not.
He has already been defeated by God in Christ!
In light of this, we must stand firm each day, resist Satan, and submit our lives to the victory of Almighty God.
We must neither be ignorant of our spiritual battle nor overwhelmed by it.
We must not live in fear, for God has already won the victory over Satan and this world.
We must simply live in His victory!
STAND STRONG!
