(2 Corinthians 1:20) All of the promises of God are “Yes” in Jesus Christ.

When we read the New Testament, we find the name of Jesus—Jesus Christ and Lord Jesus Christ—everywhere.

Why?

The answer is the good news (gospel) of God is revealed in Jesus Christ—nothing more.

As Jesus said, “If you have seen me, you have seen the Father.”

God has come to us fully and completely in Jesus.

We go astray when we think we can “discover God” through our emotional speculations and mystical dreams.

God has come to us in Jesus Christ; we either receive Him or reject Him.

There are no neutral options.

God comes to us with no hidden motives or intentions.

He comes to us only with a “Yes” in Jesus Christ. It is in Jesus Christ that we find all the promises of God fulfilled.

Too often, we think we can search for the mysterious God behind Jesus. Too often, we are tempted to think we need to add something to Jesus; trusting in Him alone seems too simple. Too often, we think we must do something to make God love us, when He has already chosen us in love through Jesus Christ.

There is no love of God outside of Jesus.

There is no grace of God outside of Jesus.

We need to stop being anxious about our eternal security. Our entire foundation of security is grounded in God’s abundant grace and love found in Jesus alone.

There is no “No” in Jesus Christ.

The good news of God is not “Yes” and “No” in Jesus; it is always “Yes.”

God in Jesus is always for us—he is never against us. He will never leave us or forsake us.

In Jesus Christ, there is only “Amen” and “Amen.”

The everlasting grace of God in Jesus Christ is not a mixed or complicated message. It is not a message of “hope and doom.”

It is not a message of “possible and maybe.” It is a message of objective truth and absolute faithfulness.

Jesus Christ is the only rock foundation upon which we are to live our lives.

Is Jesus Christ enough for you?

Or are you always looking for something more?
