(Colossians 1:9) The Holy Spirit gives us wisdom and understanding in all of life.

The source of biblical wisdom and understanding is the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit.

Unfortunately, we often divide our lives into spiritual and secular sections.

When we go to church, we are living in the spiritual section of our lives.

But when we go to work, we are living in the secular section of our lives.

In our private lives, we do our spiritual things.

In our public lives, we do our secular things.

Our modern culture insists that “Christianity” must be kept within the four walls of a church building.

Christians can practice their faith as long as they keep it confined to their private lives.

Our Christian speech and practice should never be taken into the public square.

This is biblical heresy.

Unfortunately, many Christians have also adopted this mindset (conformed to this world’s system).

They almost function as “Christian schizophrenics.”

Jesus is Lord over all of life—private and public.

Biblically, there is no such thing as spiritual and secular lives.

It does not matter whether you are at church, at work, or in the grocery store—all of life is spiritual.

Mature Christians live all of life holistically under the presence and guidance of the Holy Spirit.

For it is the Holy Spirit who gives us wisdom to live our lives under the lordship of Jesus Christ.
