(Hebrews 10:22) Let us draw near to God with a sincere heart.

If you met a Christian man who was struggling in life, and when you asked him what he needed, and he told you “hope.”

What would you say to him?

Because of the situations in your life, you felt stuck and depressed. You felt as if there was no way to change things in your life. You felt as if you had no sense of hope concerning the future. You were convinced that your life will aways be the same.

What would you do?

We have to come to the conclusion that we can’t change things through our own efforts and will-power. Our world is too complex, and life does not always happen as we planned.

Let me be straight forward: A fresh wind of faith, hope, and love in our lives will only come from God’s intimate presence.

A sense of newness in life only comes to us when we fully surrender everything.

When we run into his presence of spiritual treasures and receive guidance and answers from him. As this verse tells us, with confidence we must take the initiative and move toward (draw near to) God. As Hebrews 4:16 tells us, we must “approach God’s throne of grace with confidence,”

The truth is, we think if we wait long enough God will come to our rescue when we are doing nothing. But the breakthrough of something new in our lives will only be found inside the Most Holy Place in heaven.

This sounds scary because we don’t always have our lives all together, actually maybe it is just a mess. But as this verse tells us, we do not need a “perfect” heart or life to enter into the presence of God through prayer.

All we need is a sincere, authentic, and humble heart, which means we simply surrender everything to him without fear. To desperately run toward God is not difficult.

It is often our hardened heart that is our obstacle. I encourage you today to live out the truth of James 4:8, “Draw near to God, and he will come near to you.

This is where our hope is found!
