Hebrews 11:6 “Anyone who comes to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.”

To often we think we can approach God casually, and expect to experience his immanent presence in our lives. Hebrews 11:6 rejects this way of thinking.

We first must seek and draw near to God wholeheartedly and with heart conviction. We must be really thirsty to experience God more and more in our lives.

We can’t expect anything from God if we just think intellectual acknowledgement is enough.

We must seek after and invest ourselves in developing a personal relationship with God. If we do, God is faithful to draw near to us. God will give back to us (reward us) with his presence and blessing.

It is important to understand that believing in God is an active drive to experience his best for our lives. God will come near to us experientially.

If we think God doesn’t exist—meaning he is alive and will personally express his love toward us—then what is the point. If we think God is simply a detached rock in the sky, then all we are doing is religious stuff that has no reward.

Our faith is a deep confidence that God lives and will bless us with his presence and blessing. You can’t earn his presence, you simply have to express believe in him sincerely and with all of our hearts.

Faith is not skepticism or simply being hopeful that God will come near. Faith is not magic. Faith expressed toward God is a confident assurance that he is trustworthy and faithful toward us.

God exists!

God will bless us!

All we need to do is to seek a relationship with him from an honest and thirsty heart.
