(Hebrews 12:22) Thousands upon thousands of angels.
The New Testament is filled with the ministry of angels. This is what Hebrews 13:2 says: Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it.
Angels are created heavenly spirits who serve as messengers of God for us. As Hebrews 12:22 tells us, there are so many angels in heaven that they cannot be counted.
John describes his vision of heaven in Revelation 5:11: Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels, numbering thousands upon thousands, and ten thousand times ten thousand.
There are armies of angels engaged in spiritual battle on our behalf, whether we realize it or not. They wage war against demonic forces, as we see in Revelation 12:7–8.
Should we pray to angels? No.
Can we pray to the Lord to send angels to engage in spiritual warfare on our behalf? Yes.
However, Christians should not become overly obsessed with angels, elevating them above God. We must remember that Satan and demons are fallen angels. Second Corinthians 11:14 tells us that Satan often appears as an angel of light. Christians who over-focus on angels can easily fall into deception. Paul’s warning in Colossians 2:18 makes this clear: Do not let the worship of angels disqualify you.
I encourage all of us to understand the ministry role of mighty angels in God’s kingdom. At the second coming of Jesus Christ, he will come with His powerful angels (2 Thessalonians 1:7).
Are you aware that we are surrounded by thousands upon thousands of angels that no one can number?
They are sent by God as powerful warrior servants to battle for us.
Angels are always in the invisible fight against darkness.
Let’s not forget this!
