After 45 years of serving God, I still do not understand how prayer actually works.
I know that our prayers
(Philippians 4:8) Fill your thoughts with what is true.
Our modern world is run by media that is filled with false propaganda and misleading information.

Throughout the Bible, we are told to “ask God.”
As Philippians 4:6 means, ask God specifically—not vaguely—for
(Philippians 2:14) Do all things without complaining.
Because we live in a fallen world that is filled with fallen people, most things in life simply do not
(Philippians 1:6) God began a good work in you, and he will bring it to completion.
Some days, even weeks, we don’t feel very spiritual.
We feel like our Christian lives are a real grind—

To “press on” is an athletic phrase.
Biblically, the phrase “press on” does not mean human strife and self-will power.

As humans we want to have a respectful and good “reputation” in the eyes of unbelievers.
