I have reflected recently on the truth that we can have an in-depth relational friendship with God.
In James 2:
(Proverbs 18:16) A gift opens the way.
Our salvation is a gift from God; it cannot be earned.
The characteristic of “giving” is at the center of
(Psalm 57:1) In you I take refuge.
David is fleeing from Saul who is determined to kill him.
He is hiding in a cold dark cave. He
(Proverbs 21:2) The Lord weighs the heart.
This Proverb gets to the “heart” of the matter, for the Lord examines and tests (Proverbs 17:3) the human
(Proverbs 30:1) I am weary, God, but I will be victorious.
How can a Christian be weary (weak, tired) and victorious (prevailing, overcoming) at the same time? In our own human
(Ezekiel 37:5) I will make Spirit enter these dry bones, and they will come to life.
The prophet Ezekiel saw a vision of a valley filled with dry dead bones. But then, God declared, “I will
(Lamentations 3:22–23) New Every Morning.
When we get up in the morning, many of us think, “Oh, another day, the same old grind.”
But Lamentations
(2 Timothy 2:13) When we are unfaithful, God will remain faithful to us.
When we are born-again and become Christians (followers of Jesus Christ), it does not mean we are or become perfect.
(Hebrews 11:8) Abraham obeyed God and went, even though he did not know where he was going.
As Christians, we too often over-rationalize our faith and obedience to God.
We will obey God if we are sure
