(Proverbs 1:20–21) Out in the open wisdom calls aloud, she raises her voice in the public square.
In this Proverb, wisdom is personified, as it often is in the book of Proverbs.
God’s wisdom is available to all of us.
It is not simply abstract facts you find in a Google search. God’s wisdom is not secret knowledge that is possessed by only a few people (pastors), the religious elites.
God’s wisdom is not silent or hidden. It cries out to us loudly and clearly. It is standing at the city gate and calling out to everyone walking by.
The cry of wisdom is louder than the crowds in the market or the deafening music in restaurants.
God’s wisdom is offered and available for everyone; everyone on the streets, in business, or a person digging a ditch on a construction site.
But growing in wisdom is not automatic.
We must hear the call of wisdom. We must be convinced that it is truly available to us. We must have a deep heart desire to receive wisdom from God. We must, above all, seek after the wisdom of God.
As James 1:5 tells us, "If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you."
I encourage all of us to seek and pray for God's wisdom, and apply God's wisdom into our daily lives.
God’s wisdom is crying out to us!
Do you hear it?
Pray today for God to give you his wisdom and help you to live it out every day.
