(Proverbs 14:30) Envy (jealousy) rots the bones.

Many people in our world are consumed by envy and jealousy.

Poison!

Envy is the twisted desire to covet the possessions, perceived advantages, or achievements of others.

Envy is a distorted feeling of resentment.

It is a false perception of ourselves as victims.

Envy is the opposite of being content and at peace in our lives.

The grace and love of God no longer seem enough for us.

Contentment with God's faithful provision—whether little or much—falls short in our human eyes.

We wander away from a life of contentment in God's security, faithfulness, and provision.

We begin to compare our lives with the lives of others.

Decay!

When we stop being thankful for even the smallest blessings in our lives, a destructive seed of envy can easily grow in our hearts.

Be aware!

As Proverbs 14:30 reminds us, "A heart at peace gives life to the body, but envy rots the bones."

Envy will rot the very depths of our inner lives.

Let us keep our lives aligned under the Lordship of Christ.

Let us keep our eyes on God, not on others.

Let us remain thankful and content with God's provision.

He knows what we need.

Look at the birds!

Let us remain focused on growing in our own walk with Him.

Lord, we pray, help us not to become sidetracked by the lives of others.

Amen.
