(Proverbs 15:22) Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisors they succeed.
As fallen humans, we do not have a good perspective of ourselves.
We need spouses, family, and friends (not just anyone) to give us honest counsel about our plans, potential plans, and decisions. Other people see things from an outside perspective.
When we have to make a major decision in life, be sure to seek out counsel and advice from a variety of trusted people.
The voices of multiple counselors and advisors are a key way of hearing the voice of God and his direction.
For example, I recently made a huge decision. I talked with my wife, adult children, and about 25 other leaders before I finally determined that I was truly being led by the Lord.
Don’t hesitate to ask others.
They will be blessed that you asked them.
Asking others their thoughts requires humility on your part.
It doesn’t mean we have to follow every person’s advice, for our focus should be on the big picture of a great amount of advice.
In the midst of a host of advice, we hear God’s direction.
It is your humility in asking others their thoughts that leads to success.
If we don’t think we need others, then get ready for many failures and bad decisions in your life.
Seek out advice from people you respect.
You will not regret it!
