(Proverbs 21:2) The Lord weighs our hearts.

The Lord examines our hearts!

The Christian faith is all about the condition and function of our hearts.

What is the human heart?

The heart is a person’s core identity.

The heart is a person’s innermost being.

Biblical salvation (conversion) is a sovereign act of God through the Holy Spirit that brings about the inner transformation of our hearts.

This heart transformation of the Spirit is what it means to be “born again.”

We cannot hide anything from God; he sees and knows the true nature of our inner lives.

He knows our every thought and motive.

Why do we think we can hide our hearts from him?

God has a spiritual relationship with us in and through our hearts.

It is in our hearts that we worship Christ as Lord (1 Peter 3:15).

This is why it is important that we “guard our hearts” (Proverbs 4:23).

Jesus said in Matthew 6:21, “Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”

Jesus tells us in Matthew 15:19, “For out of the heart come evil thoughts—murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander.”

Christian living is all about having a wholehearted relationship with God.

Do you love God with all your heart?

I encourage us all to pray: “Jesus, create in me a pure heart. O God, renew a right spirit within me.”
