(Psalm 16:8) I have set the Lord always before me; I shall not be shaken.

God is shaking the nations and churches around the world. As Hebrews 12:26 tells us, ”Once more I will shake not only the earth but also the heavens.”

COVID was simply one phase of this divine shaking, which had started more than a decade before. I was aware of it, but I was not sure how God was going to shake and destroy the false securities and gods that are so entrenched in our modern entertainment and media world.

I do know, however, that God shaking the nations and churches around the world for spiritual awakening. Notice, Hebrews 12:26 is a promise. God is bringing deep disorientation on the earth, for the purpose of drawing many people and families to himself—primarily outside of organized church.

As true followers of Jesus we are living through this global shaking.

The question is how do we remain from becoming disillusioned personally, and so participate in God’s awakening and harvest?

Psalm 16:8 tells us: We must firmly set the Lord “before us”—in front of us—not behind us or beside us.

We must make sure that we give God the position as our Shepherd and Leader.

We must make sure we are following God, not just pushing him to the religious periphery of our daily life.

Be assured of this fact: Only God can lead us through the storm of this shaking all around us. Our hearts must be established to hear and obey him, without knowing all the details.

We—including the church—cannot navigate or manage our way through such a disorientation covering our world right now.

Are you being caught up in the shaking of our society and church world?

If you are feeling disoriented, it is for your good—that is if you surrender to what God wants to do in your life.

It is important to distinguish between disorientation and disillusionment.

If you are allowing Jesus to be your Lord and Leader, then as the promise declares, “You will not be shaken!”

Remember, we are in the world, but we are not of the world.

Be encouraged!

And keep our Lord Jesus Christ always "before you.”
