(Romans 8:11) The Holy Spirit who raised Jesus Christ from the dead gives life to our mortal bodies because the Holy Spirit lives in us.

Romans 8:11 is an amazing passage full of truth and promise. Every Christian should memorize and internalize this verse.

Why?

Because we too often we depend way too much on our own efforts in living the Christian life. Our thinking is simply too religious at times. 

Embrace this truth: The Holy Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead also lives in us today. Meditate on this truth. Speak it out loud several times.

Wow!

Self-will religion brings death! The Holy Spirit brings life! It is the Holy Spirit within us that imparts eternal life—God’s life—into our mortal (weak) bodies! 

The Holy Spirit’s presence and power in our lives is a gift from God. We do not need to try to earn it, we just need to believe it. We must thirst for more of the living water of the Holy Spirit to bring increasing renewal into our lives.

If we are to live overcoming and victorious lives, we must put all our focus on experiencing the transformative power of the Holy Spirit that dwells within us. 

This is not fanatical; it is normal New Testament Christian living. To live deep in the life of the Holy Spirit is not complicated, just relax and receive all the Spirit has for us through faith and trust in God. 

The Holy Spirit is our life-giving power, not rules we try to follow. It is the Holy Spirit’s power that gives us the ability to live a life that pleases God. It is the life of the Holy Spirit that gives us the power to overcome temptation and sin.
