(Matthew 7:7) Keep knocking.

One of the most important Bible passages is Revelation 3:7–8: God opens doors that no one can shut and closes doors that no one can open.

These verses are crucial to mature Christian living.

Why?

There are three reasons: perseverance, guidance, and timing.

Perseverance

We must not quit in our Christian lives.

Too often, Christians give up when they hit barriers and difficulties. But we must “keep knocking.”

We must keep sowing the seed.

We must keep knocking on every door we can.

We persevere with boldness and tenacity.

Guidance

There are some doors that God will close.

God will open doors that we do not expect.

This is how God guides us in life.

Timing

Too often, we think doors should open instantly, but at times they do not.

It is all about timing.

God knows what is best for us.

However, it requires us to “keep knocking.”

God sees the big picture and the long-term purposes that we do not.

Do you give up easily?

Or do you sit back and simply expect what you want?
