(Hebrews 13:6) The Lord God is my helper; I will not be afraid.
We all have to walk through storms and winds in this life.
The key is how we walk through them.
All of us become afraid and anxious when we face the storms of life.
Life can be very hard at times.
We do not always have answers. We are all human. No one is exempt.
When we get worn down by the daily pressures of life, we often try to face our fears in our own strength.
We begin to live as though everything depends on us. We even begin to live as if God is not present or does not care.
We all have times when we are afraid, but the “spirit of fear” is often produced by demonic powers.
The “spirit of fear” is much more intense than normal fear.
The “spirit of fear” can lead us into a deep spiral.
When we allow the “spirit of fear” to take over, we sink deeper and deeper into a dark place.
The “spirit of fear” weighs down our hearts.
It is important that we do not allow the “spirit of fear” to gain a strong grip on our thoughts.
We must resist the “spirit of fear,” for the fruit of the Holy Spirit is power, love, and self-control.
We must focus our thoughts on the love God has for us, for as 1 John 4:18 tells us, “Perfect love casts out fear.” God is love, and there is no “spirit of fear” in His love.
Jesus Christ is our Helper in times of trouble. He is our Comforter. He is always with us. We are never alone.
What are you afraid of today?
Are you allowing the “spirit of fear” to get a stronghold in your life, or are you resisting it?
The “spirit of fear” will not solve anything.
This does not mean that fear is not real, but the “spirit of fear” brings confusion, cloudy thinking, and heaviness.
The next time the “spirit of fear” shows up, I encourage you to read Psalm 23:4–6 aloud again and again: “Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for You are with me... Surely Your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life.”
This truth can set us all free.
