(Matthew 26:41) Watch and pray so you will not fall into temptation.
One of the greatest dangers for Christians is spiritually complacency.
We are in significant spiritual danger when we walk through life with a dullness of mind and heart.
Spiritual contentment can easily seduce and trap us in temptation and sin.
The Christian life requires us to have our spiritual antennas up.
When we are complacent and content, we begin to live a life of unthankfulness and bitterness because of the challenges that arise around us.
Satan is truly our enemy!
He is constantly active, scheming against us.
He is looking for ways to take us off track into the quagmire of false religion.
Satan tries to bring circumstances and people into our lives who can negatively influence us and lead us off the narrow way of Jesus Christ.
Satan is all about deception!
He can plant thoughts in our minds that pull us down.
He can bring spiritual oppression into our attitudes and actions.
Satan comes as an angel of light!
He uses people who look good but are actually destructive.
The Christian life is a life of spiritual warfare!
As Jesus tells us in Matthew 26:41, we must always be spiritually alert and watchful.
We must stay spiritually alert, vigilant, awake, and attuned to God’s presence and guidance.
It is only by watching and praying that we can keep walking faithfully on the narrow road of Jesus Christ.
We get stuck in the present and lose vision for the future.
Are you spiritually sleepwalking through your day?
Are you unaware of your spiritual surroundings?
Are you walking through your life without any intentional discernment?
Let’s remain ready to fight against the darkness through the power of the Holy Spirit living within us.
We must be empowered through the Holy Spirit within us, or we can easily spiral downward.
Let’s remain alert and victorious!
