(2 Corinthians 11:14-15) Satan masquerades as an angel of light.

Christians often believe that if they saw Satan, he would look evil, distorted, ugly, repulsive, and smell like rotten chicken.

But 2 Corinthians 11:14–15 tells us the opposite.

Satan is the ultimate deceiver.

He disguises himself as an angel of light.

Some Christians fall into spiritual deception because they think that what sounds or feels good must be from God.

We forget that Satan manifests himself through things that are enticing and attractive to our fallen desires and passions.

Christians are often led astray by what we think is attractive and even good.

But in the end, it only leads to death.

Not only does this passage warn us about Satan, but it also warns us about human ministers of Satan.

They disguise themselves as servants of righteousness—so-called “good Christians” sitting next to us in church, or a celebrity speaking on their own podcast.

Human ministers of Satan—false preachers, apostles, and prophets—will snake their way into the body of Christ under false pretenses.

Human ministers of Satan might sound persuasive and humorous, but in reality, they are false, demonic messengers.

The New Testament is full of warnings against false teachers and prophets.

The truth is, Satan and his human ministers never initially reveal themselves as they truly are. They disguise themselves as messengers of light and servants of righteousness.

As Christians, we should not live in fear of Satan and his human ministers, but we must test everyone and everything according to the truth of the Bible—not according to our feelings or what someone tells us.

Let’s not be ignorant or naive.

Let’s be wise.

Let’s be alert.

Let’s be mature followers of Christ.

Let’s test all things according to biblical truth.
